A deployment serves a checkpoint at an OpenAI-compatible endpoint.

1. Create a deployment

2. Test the deployment

In the same Python session, wait for DEPLOYED; stop on FAILED or CANCELLED. Until it is promoted, a deployment answers only on its own test slug. Install openai for this optional smoke test, then query the exact route with a new trajectory ID:
The OpenAI-compatible route accepts the organization key as Bearer authentication and requires X-Trajectory-Id; SDK resource calls use X-API-Key.

3. Promote

Callers reach production through the owning agent’s production model slug, which is separate from each deployment’s test slug. Set it once per agent, then promote. Promotion points that slug at this deployment; no separate model-endpoint creation is needed. Both steps are also available from Deployments in the platform.
Call the production slug through the SDK, again with a new trajectory:
Collect production traces to learn from the application after it is serving.
