# Use a coding agent

> Install Trajectory skills and get platform links as your agent works.

The `trajectory` skill guides SDK work and reports progress with platform links.
The separate `agent-feedback` skill handles product feedback when you authorize it.

## Install

Add the latest `trajectory-sdk` to your project, then install both skills:

```bash theme={null}
npx skills add https://docs.trajectory.ai --skill trajectory --skill agent-feedback
```

Choose your coding agent when prompted. Skill installation does not install or upgrade
the Python SDK. Set `TRAJECTORY_API_KEY` before making API calls.

> [accordion] Python-only installation
>
> The SDK also bundles both complete skill folders.
> Find them from your project's Python environment:
>
> ```bash theme={null}
> python -c "import importlib.metadata as m; print('\n'.join(str(f.locate().resolve().parent) for f in m.files('trajectory-sdk') if f.name == 'SKILL.md'))"
> ```
>
> Copy both folders into your coding agent's project skills directory: `.agents/skills/`
> for Codex, `.claude/skills/` for Claude Code, or `.cursor/skills/` for Cursor.
> Review local edits before replacing existing files.

## Refresh

Run `npx skills update`, or recopy the bundled folders after upgrading the SDK.
Ask an active agent to reload the skills. Keep project-specific instructions in your
project's agent instructions file.

## Start a task

Use the platform's **Copy setup prompt**, or ask your agent to read the `trajectory` skill
and perform your task. Include the selected agent or spec.

Expect a platform link when work starts, then the outcome and a link to inspect the result.
